My short film: In Winter We Hunt has been Highly Commended at The Drone Awards part of the Siena International Photo Awards
My husband James and I were invited to a wonderful week in beautiful Siena, Italy for the Siena International Photo Awards end of September. We met up with other finalists and were taken by the Siena Awards Team on tours of Siena, vineyards, alongside attending talks and previews of the upcoming exhibition.
We were treated to a number of inspiring talks from photographers who shoot stories for National Geographic including Steve Winters, Ami Vitale, Muhammed Muheisen and Pascal Maitre to name a few. We also got to catch up with some of the photographers from Wildlife Photographers of the Year 2024 such as Shane Gross who won WPY60 and took 2 awards home from Siena. These awards were also part hosted by Cathy Moran, a judge and host for Wildlife Photographer of the Year too, and it was lovely to catch up with her again.
I’m pleased my film got recognised, it spurs me on to cut the next film, always pushing my skill set. I have 2 in the pipeline, one shot in Canada earlier this year and another shot in East Greenland that I am hoping to do justice to as it’s a wonderful story. I am also working on 2 photography books - so busy busy.
Thank you Siena! And congratulations all the other winners!
