ABOUT

I am a lens-based storyteller, who also has a twenty-five-year career in Documentary film as a sound recordist, an aerial cinematographer, stills photographer and lately a filmmaker.

My work has taken me around the world and to every ocean, both Arctic regions 80° South and 80° North. I’m happiest connected to nature, travelling in remote areas, wild islands and cold climes.

Through photography, I set out to communicate the world around me, in an artful, informative, and honest way. As a documentary photographer, I aim to frame the multifaceted layers I see, in the tightest way I can to tell the story. I am always seeking something that is touching, that telling glance, the slightly different, and overlooked.

For my editorial practice I’ve photographed human stories, expeditions, situational landscapes, wildscapes, and portraits. My images have been widely published in magazines, books, and the global news media. This work is often created alongside my documentary film practice, where I cover travel, science, natural history and exploration films.

In my film practice I am interested in exploring long-form documentary filmmaking, alongside campaign and short-form films for organisations whose values align with mine.

In my fine art practice, I work with Moorwood Art in Bruton, Somerset. I currently have a collection of photographic lightboxes, 'The Endurance Collection', from work produced in Antarctica. I am also in the process of creating a landscape, wildlife and wildscape book and print collection.   Moorwood Art
